Pregnancy Update - 21 Weeks

My baby bump is getting so big! When I look down it doesn't seem that big, but then I look at the pictures!

How Far Along: 21 Weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Since being pregnant I've only lost two pounds now that I've gained a little. At least I know I'm not broken, and the baby is healthy!

Gender: BOY! We are so excited!

Movement: I think my baby might grow up to be a dancer, because I'm pretty sure I have a break-dancer in my tummy! I have a very active baby!

Baby is Big as a: Spaghetti Squash (8 inches, 1 pound)

Sleep: I'm used to the new kind of "sleep" I get.

What I miss: Not too much... just having clothing I can wear...

Cravings: Potato Chips! However, I will not cave on this one, there is like no nutritional value with potato chips, and I will notbuy  them... But oh, the salty goodness. (Confession, Justin and I are driving to Michigan tomorrow, and I bought baked chips for the trip....) My recent love is really sweet peanut butter...

Food Aversions: Hot dogs... *shutter*
I like things like Skittles, but they give me crazy heartburn, so I guess I have an aversion to them.

Symptoms: Round ligament pain... by the end of the day my lower tummy is TIRED!
Oh, and if I'm on my feet for a long time (like at Disney) my feet swell. That has never happened to me before (not including my surgeries...). Justin also pointed out that I can't multi-task anymore... I just get frustrated because I used to be able to... I think it's because my brain just processes things a little slower right now...

Best Moment this week: Having a great time with Mike and Tiff, and setting up the crib!

Fun Family Bonding Weekend

What a fun, but tiring weekend!

Justin's brother: Michael, and Mike's fiancee: Tiffany came to visit for the weekend. Justin was in some dire need of bonding time with his brother, and I had SO MUCH fun with Tiff! This was the first time that Tiff and I got to spend some time together without the other family around. I love that girl!
Tiffany and Mike sitting on the couch.

They drove all day Thursday and made it in time for a late dinner and talking.

Friday Justin had to go to work, so I got to hang out with them for most of the day. We started out by sleeping in and then went to a late lunch at Tako Yaki, which is a Hibachi grill type place. So yummy. After that, I drove them around town and gave them the quick tour. Mike remembered a few things from when he helped Justin move our stuff down here pre-wedding, but it was all new for Tiff. After the grand "tour," we ended up taking naps, they were still tuckered out from the long drive, and well, hey, I'm pregnant, that's aloud right?

Justin came home a little while later, and Tiff and I packed soda's and headed to Chattanooga for some fun girl bonding time. Honestly, it was hilarious, neither of us like to spend money, but we still went to the mall. Basically we just walked and talked until we saw the Bare Essentials store, and then we got "make-overs." It was fun to just do girly things without Justin asking when I will be done (Honestly, he's very patient, but it's still different.) After the mall we went to Babies R Us to check things out. We didn't stay long, but I got to test out a couple strollers, and I think I found the one!

We went back home and the boys had started dinner by getting the grill going. After dinner we played Risk (boys request), and then watched "Master of Disguise" (Also boys request).
Playing Risk.

Saturday was busy, but fun. We drove to downtown Chattanooga and bought tickets to the Tennessee Aquarium. (Side note: the aquarium is divided into two buildings and you can split up the day with them...) Well, we did the first building, the River Journey, and we thoroughly enjoy it. I've been there before, but the rest of our group hadn't. It was entertaining for me to watch everyone take pictures. Once we finished the River Journey, we headed to the Blue Plate for lunch. Again, I had been there before, but no one else had. The food was AMAZING, seriously, the best burger had have EVER had. The only hitch in lunch was that we were sitting in a booth, and poor Mike had a spring under him pop, and his leg got scratched pretty bad.... bad enough that we got our entire meal (appetizer, meal, and dessert) for free! Mike only wanted to let the waiter know so others wouldn't have the same problem, but the waiter got the manager, and without us asking, they said the whole meal was free, and that we should order dessert too! I felt bad that Mike got hurt, but not having to pay was awesome!
Mike pouting and looking at his leg, us girls, giving the thumbs up for a free meal.

Once we had completely stuffed ourselves, we headed to the Aquarium's IMax theater and saw this really cute show about elephants and orangutans called "Born to be Wild." Then we finished the Aquarium by going through the other building called Ocean Adventure. By that time we were all exhausted, so we headed home, ate dinner, and played more Risk. Unfortunately, Mike and Tiff had to leave in the morning, so we didn't stay up too late.

They left early Sunday morning, and Justin and I headed to church. Sunday afternoon Justin and I set up the nursery! We spent two hours putting together the crib, the changing table and rearranging so everything fit. I love having the nursery set up! We still have a couple things to get, or to move out of the room. But still! I will post pictures of the nursery once it's all done. After that, I started my registry online for the things we still need... and I got my reality check: I've always known babies were expensive, but dang!

We created so many special memories this weekend. I can't wait to see what other memories will be created in the months to come!

Biddle Baby... BOY!

Had my 20 week ultrasound yesterday, and it went really well. As you can tell from this post's title, my baby is a boy! We are so excited! Not only because we (finally) found out the gender; but because my sweet, wiggly boy is very healthy, and growing well.

It was so much fun to see him on the screen during the ultrasound because I've been talking about how much he wiggles and squirms! It felt good to see that yes, he really is an unusually active baby! The ultrasound tech had a bit of a hard time getting him to sit still so she get the photos.

We were also blessed to get a video of this ultrasound too! If you would like to see the video of my wiggle worm, just leave me a message and I'll send you the private YouTube link.

I can't wait to meet my little man this December!

Gatlinburg Weekend

Better late than never!

Last weekend Justin and I went up to Gatlinburg, because his parents came down for the week. It was great to spend time with them! It was a low key weekend which was nice. It felt like a real vacation when in reality it was just a weekend.

We got to the cabin Friday night and we all just chilled and played games.

Saturday we went to the Apple Barn and then Mom and I went to Tanger Outlets, while the men went to Lowes, or Home Depot... can't remember which one, but they went to get stuff to re-stain the deck at the cabin.

After shopping we all went back to the cabin and chilled (Mom and I napped, while the men replaced a faucet...). For dinner we went to T.G.I Fridays and went putt putt golfing after! Here's a photo of Mom and I at the putt putt course.
The next morning we were naughty, and decided to sleep in instead of go to church. However, I think I was the only one to sleep in. When I woke up, Dad and Justin were getting ready to stain the deck! Evidently, the weather wasn't going to cooperate later in the week, so it was now or never.
Justin thought he was so funny... and he kinda was...
We all met Justin's grandparents at Olive Garden for lunch... it was sooo good! After lunch Justin and I headed home.

It was a quiet weekend, but it was a great one.

I'm glad that's not what really happens, I had a VERY opinionated baby in my dream!

A Weekend Full of the Elevate Youth

Weekend two out of five done. As I said earlier, July is going to be CrAZy.

This past weekend started out with Justin and I heading out to this place called The Blue Hole with our youth group and a couple other adults. It's basically a really deep spot in a river with large rocks all around it. Sounds weird, but actually pretty cool. The water is so deep that you can jump about 30 feet off the side of a cliff into the water and not get hurt. The creepy part is that the water is so clean and clear you can see the rocks on the bottom of the river.
Don't worry, I didn't do any jumping... or swimming for that matter, this pregnant woman doesn't plan on getting in a swimsuit anytime soon... Justin didn't even get in the water. He was happy just taking pictures of everything going on. The bummer is you have to hike about 15 minutes to get to this Blue Hole place. After about four hours of jumping and swimming the Blue Hole started to get busy, so the youth decided it was time to go. Here are a few photos from this little adventure.
The youth hiking to the Blue Hole.

You can see the two spots to jump from... and how clear the water is.

Me, chilling out at our 'campsite.'

Pretty. Look at how clear the water is!
Sunday morning we went to church (which was great, I LOVED the worship yesterday...) but the youth stuff came after the service. We have been trying to raise money for a ministry called Speed the Light. Which is an organization that buys things like sound equipment and vehicles for missionaries. Anyway, we really needed a good fundraiser to catch up with our goal... and boy did we find one! We auctioned off the youth! OK, that sounds way creepier than it was. What happened is when everyone was still in their pews after service, we had all the youth come up on stage and be auctioned off to do a certain chore, like babysitting, or lawn mowing. Pastor Jonathan put himself up to clean toilets and clean out gutters. We even had a real auctioneer! That really made all the difference. He was able to make the experience fun for everyone, and I think helped us raise more money than we would have been able to without him! The auction only lasted about a half hour, but we raised almost $2,000! It was incredible! God is so good.

It was an eventful, but nice weekend. I'm really looking forward to next weekend too! Family time!

Our 'Deep South' 4th of July Weekend

In past posts I had written about the college ministry that I helped out with. The pastors of that ministry were our close friends Jordan and Jessica. A few months ago, they were offered another, better job in South Georgia, and they took it. While we were thrilled they were offered such a wonderful opportunity, we were crushed that our best friends were moving five and half hours away!

Which leads to our 4th of July Weekend. We were missing them, and they were missing us too... so plans ended up being made for us to go visit them! We left Friday right after Justin got out of work and drove for what seemed like eternity. We arrived at their new home around 10:30 at night, and we stayed up talking.

The next morning we drove to Savannah, GA for the day. By time we got to Savannah and found a place to park, it was lunch time, so we all decided to eat at a seafood place on River Street called Fiddler's Crab House.
Jess showing off her crab legs for Jordan's iPhone (which was literally attached to his hip the whole weekend...)

The hubby taking a big bite of his sandwich...
After we ate lunch, we walked up and down River Street and looked at all the shops. Since it was a holiday weekend, there was a craft show for us to check out too. While we were walking through the craft show, Justin spotted (of all things) dolphins in the river! Savannah is close to the ocean, and evidentally the three dolphins were looking for food up river!
If you look closely, you can see a dolphin fin to the left.

After we were all shopped out, we walked around downtown to see all the beautiful and historic architecture. Savannah is full of historic parks and lovely buildings.
The Cotton Exchange building in Savannah.
All four (or five) of us in front of the Cotton Exchange.
Walking around all afternoon in the southern heat was tough on this pregnant woman!
When I saw this meter, I had to take this picture!
As we were walking back to the car, Jess spotted this cute little cupcake shop on a side street and we decided to check it out. It turned out to be a yummy stop! Though not for cupcakes, they had homemade popsicles! SO GOOD! I got a lemon one... not kidding, it was lemon juice, that was it! But it tasted so good after that first puckering lick.

We finally made it back to the car and drove to Tybee Island for a little bit of beach time. It was nice to wash off my tired feet in the ocean!
When we left the beach the sun was setting and we were hungry! So we stopped at an Applebees on the way home... the food was good... once we got it! It took 30 minutes for our appitizer, and 45 minutes for us to get our food! By time we argued with the rude manager, paid our bill, and left, it took us 2 hours and 15 minutes to get our food, eat it, and pay. It was crazy. We got home very late.

Sunday we went to Jessica and Jordan's church. A gospel group, The Perrys, were there! If you are an American Idol fan, you will remember their newest member: the singing police man from Sevierville, TN; Bryan Walker. It was fun to meet him; he's really nice.
After church Jess and Jordan treated us to a local southern buffet. We went back to their house for a nap; all of us were still exhausted from the previous late night. Once everyone was awake we started playing games.... and the boys finally beat us women at 'Sorry.' It only took them like twenty games.... Jordan made us his special ribs, Jessica made garlic bread and baked beans, and I brought potato salad I made before we came... Justin, he ate... Ha! After dinner we played more games and talked until 1 in the morning!

Justin and I got up early this morning and left around 7 am to get back home... Tonight we made burgers and smores on the grill, and we plan on watching fireworks from our back porch and light a few sparklers.

It was a very memorable 4th of July Weekend. It's crazy to think we will have a 7 month old next year this time!

Pregnancy Update - 17 Weeks

How Far Along: 17 Weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I keep losing weight! I have now lost four pounds! My doctor said she's gonna watch me because I'm suppose to have gained about five... not lose!

Gender: Don't know yet, we find out July 20th! So excited!

Movement: I felt the baby last Friday for the first time! It kinda felt like popcorn popping. Then a few days ago a felt it again, this time it was like someone bumped me from the inside.... I think it was a head-butt. Also, baby seems to like chocolate milk... every time I drink some, it moves a lot. It tickles.

Baby is Big as a: Sweet Potato (5.5 inches, and 5 oz)

Sleep: Sleep has gotten a little better. I think I'm just used to the new kind of "sleep" I get. I have another confession, I LOVE my pregnancy pillow! Justin likes it too, if he gets in bed before I do, I findhim cuddling with it! Ha ha.

What I miss: Not too much... probably just having an appetite.

Cravings: Potato Chips! However, I will not cave on this one, there is like no nutritional value with potato chips, and I will not eat them... But oh, the salty goodness.
I'm really into pizza right now... love it! I make sure I have as many veggies on it as I can...

Food Aversions: Hot dogs... *shutter*
I like things like Skittles, but they give me crazy heartburn, so I guess I have an aversion to them.

Symptoms: I don't have morning sickness like I used to, but I still get really car sick.
Round ligament pain to the point it makes me nauseous.
Oh, and if I'm on my feet for a long time (like at Disney) my feet swell. That has never happened to me before (not including my surgeries...).

Best Moment this week: Feeling my sweet baby move!
