Memorial Day Weekend

Our little family traveled all the way up to Michigan for memorial day weekend this year.

Our weekend started out on Thursday evening when we said goodbye to our house-guests, the Wilson's, and left them house sitting for us as we started our long drive. Thursday night we ended up staying overnight in Dayton, Ohio and then continuing our trip Friday morning.

Friday morning Jonah woke up at 5am so we just decided to hit the road. We got into Midland at noon and spent a little while with family while Jonah took a proper nap. That night we went to a Loons Baseball game. We planned to only stay a few innings and leave when Jo got fussy, but the little man LOVED it! I'd say we have a little baseball fan! We ended up staying until the top of the 9th inning. Little shout out to the Dow Diamond: thank you for having such a nice nursing room with a rocking chair and changing table! I was impressed.

Saturday Justin went golfing with his dad, I went shopping with my mum, and Jonah had some quality time with Grandma Lynne. Saturday night Jonah had fun with Grandma Wendy, and Justin and I had our first date night in months: we went to see the Avengers. Awesome movie... It was intense.

Sunday we went to church, and then spent the afternoon with my dad and step-mom's family. We grilled, played Apples to Apples, and Jonah took a nap on Grandpa... Not sure who was more thrilled, Jo or Grandpa.

Monday we had plans to go to the memorial day parade, but Jonah Bear woke up cranky and with a slight fever. So we ended up staying home so he could get proper naps and feel better. That afternoon we visited Grandma Wendy for a little bit, and later that evening we went back to the hubby's family to make s'mores and my dad stopped by to say goodbye.

Tuesday we drove the long 12+ hours home.

Long weekend, but it was so nice to see family. Most of them hadn't see Jonah since he was a newborn.

Now to rest and gear up for the next adventure!

Crazy Busy

Currently my little family and I are, you guessed it, crazy busy. This past weekend would exhaust the average family, but not us! (This is a blatant lie, but we can't afford to slow down or we will crash before all our craziness is done.)

The weekend started out with mama (me) going to the Daughter of the King women's conference at our church. It was wonderful! God met us there and lives were changed! I left my house at 5:15pm, and didn't get home until 12:03am. Not only is that a long time to be at church (I loved it), it was a long time for Justin to be on daddy duty solo. But he rocked it! I was so proud of my men!

Saturday I packed Jo up and he came to church with me for the second part of the conference. Daddy had earned a break. So Jo and I were at church from 10:20 until 2:30. Jo enjoyed being spoiled, and I enjoyed time with the King and my sisters in Christ. I even won a door-prize: a NLT parallel study Bible. I'm really quite excited about it!
At 4 on Saturday we had a neighborhood block party! This was exciting for us because it meant we got to meet all of our new neighbors! We are so blessed to be in the neighborhood that we are. So many sweet people that want to get to know us too! We all had so much fun that we plan on having another block party this fall.

Saturday evening after we put Jonah down for the night, Justin and I got some much needed alone time and watched a movie until too late in the night. But it was nice.

Sunday we went to church like normal, but then when we came home we had to clean the house because we had church connect group that night. We knew that only one person was able to attend, so we just invited her for hot dogs and corn on the cob, nothing fancy. The fellowship time was nice though.
My little stud all dressed up for church!

Tuckered out from a long weekend. (He's still holding his ball though... cute.)

Busy Busy Busy. That was our weekend. Now to get ready for house guests that are coming tonight!

Our New Home

I've decided to start a series of blog posts about our new home. So as we finish rooms and projects! I'll update my blog. The first post will be about our front yard and entryway.
The picture above is of the flower pots I spray painted and planted! I'm really proud of how they look next to our freshly painted front door. It's painted navy blue. Below is what our lovely house looks like! I'm so very proud of it! The Lord is so good! The last picture is a close up of our entry way. You can see the painted door and flower pots.
Well, that's the outside of our new home!

One Blessed Mama

My first Mother's Day was one to remember. It started out with a beautiful mommy stacking ring, and ended with baby barf all over the bed... My side of the bed.

I woke up on Sunday morning. And Justin gave me my Mother's day present after I fed Jonah: a tiny little ring with "Jonah" written on it. Then the sweet man made me breakfast. We all went to church, and on the way home we stopped at McDonalds so I didn't have to make lunch. When we got home I was treated to a 2.5 hour nap without the baby monitor! Talk about a happy mama! Later Jo let me hug him for about 45 seconds without wiggling..

I ran a few errands alone, grabbed a movie and some frozen yogurt and came home. Justin and I ate dinner with froyo for dessert while watching the Muppets. It was fun.

The trouble started when we all went to bed... As it usually does. My little guy decided that since mama's day was almost over that he could be a naughty boy and not sleep. So after I fed him yet again at 11:40 he needed to burp. I wasn't able to get the burp out and as I was trying to enlist the Hubby, Jo proceeded to spit up the entire feeding all over my side of the bed. First thought to pop into my head: yep, officially a mom now... I've had my first mothers day and had kid puke in my bed.

Even with a pukey, sleep fighting little boy, it was a very special Mothers Day.

Our Third Anniversary

Yesterday was Justin and my third wedding anniversary. It's crazy to think we've been married for three years! They have been the best years of my life.

The day started out normal enough, we were both exhausted from a night of wrangling a certain little man who was too hungry to sleep (more on that in another post). I was packing Justin's lunch when he told me to take something out of the top pocket: a beautifully wrapped package. It contained a house bead for my pandora bracelet. (Que the "awes".) It was the perfect gift since we just bought our first home!
My little house Pandora bead.

After that the day was pretty boring and normal until Justin came home. I made his favorite Southwest Panini's for dinner and then we all headed out the door for Wednesday night church. Since we were going to church, I figured that Jo could just sleep in the nursery. They would just hold and rock him for an hour and a half... Sounded perfect to me... I even packed his swaddle wrap and paci. But no luck. Little man got a 5 minute nap on the way to church and he thought he was good to go. So no nap for Jonah Bear.

On the way home from church Justin stopped at a grocery store and bought me a dozen red roses. (Que more "awes".) It was super sweet.
A dozen red roses. <3

Then we stopped at Sonic for celebratory milkshakes (I love Sonic). We went home, fed the Jonah Bear and put him to bed. He went down like a good little boy with no crying... just sleeping. Then about an hour into the night he woke up screaming bloody murder. I asked Justin to get him because I was worn out from the night before and a busy day. My sweet hubby did, but Jo didn't stop screaming... actually, an hour and half later, and after we tried EVERYTHING to make this little boy happy (which usually isn't too hard), we were ready to take him to the hospital. He was obviously in pain, and we had no idea how to make him feel better. Just as I was about to hit the button to call the doctor, Jo started to whimper instead of hysterical screaming. So we did our best to make him comfortable and he fell asleep... on Daddy, who was sitting in the basement in the rocker-recliner. So my hubby's final anniversary gift to me was sleep. I have the BEST husband in the whole world.

P.S. Jonah is doing better now. We think he just had an upset tummy from being too full, gassy, and was unable to deal with it because he missed a crucial nap.

Jonah is 5 months old!

Wow, my sweet little Jonah Bear is five months old today! It seems like just last month he was only one month... Time flies when you don't sleep... Haha.

We think Jonah weighs a little over 12 pounds now... At his last well check he weighed 11 pounds and 9 oz. He's in the 8% for weight (up by 3% since last time), 30% for height, and 40% for size of noggin (Justin claims its for all the Biddle brains).

We are still using cloth diapers, and loving them, but if he were in disposables, he would be in size one.

Since we moved, Jonah has reverted back to waking twice in the middle of the night to eat, so we are currently trying to move to a 4 hour schedule... Prayers would be appreciated. We hope he will sleep through the night soon.

Jonah's major milestones this past month include adding a noise to his "vocabulary": "naa", and sitting up by himself, but only for a minute before he tips over.

His favorite food is bananas... He just goes crazy for them. He actually cries when they are gone.

And now for pictures! (I'm writing this from my phone, so all the pictures are stuck at the end...)

We Are Homeowners!

Well, it happened! We just closed on our first house! Now I feel free to go blog crazy about it and give you all the details!

Once Jonah was born we quickly realized that our little townhouse we were renting was not big enough for our family. So we decided to start looking at houses. We looked online for a little while, but soon we found a realtor. We looked for a few weeks with him, and ended up falling in love with this special house. With a little help from family we could buy it! After quite a bit of prayer and trusting in God we placed an offer, a counter offer, a counter-counter offer, etc. Until we got the house! Soon after we got the house Justin and I felt like God was telling us to give a large sum of money to our church... We decided to be obedient even though we we knew we wouldn't have enough money to buy the house... Well, my God is a faithful God and He helped us buy the house anyway! After a few repairs were made, an appraisal was done; but the appraisal came back lower than the price we agreed upon. Sadly, it was so low, that we didn't think the homeowners would be willing to sell it to us. However, they did! It was such a blessing! Because of the price being lowered so much, we were able to buy the house without help from family! We know this is because we chose to trust in God. God is so good!

To finish up our little praise report, here are a few pictures of our house! Please excuse the boxes and lack of furniture... We are moving in. ;) I will post more pictures when we are settled.
