Stella & Dot

As you can tell, I've been a little MIA on my blog for a while. My Mum came to visit, and there are some other things going on that I'll be happy to tell y'all about soon, but for now... a guest post!

Well, my sweet friend Emma offered to guest post again about something that is dear to her heart, and I thought now would be a lovely time for her to post!

I’m so thrilled to be doing another guest blog post for Megan!  This time, instead of cloth diapers, I’m going to write about something a little more FUN and a little more related to me.  And stay tuned for a fun surprise announcement at the bottom of this post!!  {but don’t peak ahead, silly}
So it all started when I fell in love with a line of jewelry on YouTube.  Some of the moms and non-moms I watch on YouTube were talking about this company called Stella &Dot, and when I saw the pieces they were talking about I fell in love!  The jewelry was so different from any other direct sales jewelry line I had seen – it was fashionable and stylish, modern, fun, vintage-inspired, feminine and bold. And best of all: really high quality.  At the time, I didn’t know anyone who sold Stella & Dot, or anyone who had ever seen it in person but I was certain that Stella & Dot would be a hit so I decided to start researching the company.  And mind you, I had never seen the jewelry in person.
Then one day, my friend came over and she was wearing a beautiful charm necklace.  I LOVED it so I asked her where it was from and she told me…Stella & Dot!!  I about fell on the floor.  The piece was so beautiful in person!
Since I’m a mom, I’d been looking for something that would allow me to earn some money from home, and give me flexible hours so I could spend more time with my daughter (since I currently work full time), but I’d been burned by a direct sales company before, so I was very careful and very thorough in my research of Stella & Dot.  And the more I learned, the more I fell in love.  So, my husband and I prayed about it and decided this would be the right path for our family.  And it is.
So, luckily for me, I get to share this gorgeous line of jewelry with women and their friends in their homes, on the go, at events and online. The guests get great deals on stylish accessories (half the line is under $50), the hostess gets an average of $250 in free jewelry and 4 half off items, and I earn 25-30% on my sales. And I’m working to build a team so that other women can start their own ventures as Stella & Dot Stylists.  It’s a ton of fun and I am spreading happiness!
Our Fall 2012 Collection just launched and our design team blew me away with the pieces. From Mod Safari to New Romantics to Everyday Essentials and Charms, there is something for every woman, no matter her age or style type. Here’s a photo I took of the boxes as I was opening my samples: isn’t the packaging adorable?! So “gift-ready”.
Our Charm Collection is our #1 seller.  The idea behind it is for every woman to share her “story” through a piece of heirloom jewelry that she can wear close to her heart.  The charms are made of sterling silver and Italian bronze (which has similar properties to sterling silver). There are sophisticated styles, whimsical styles, styles for moms, styles for grandmothers, and styles for pet lovers and graduates and everyone in between.  There is literally something for everyone.  When put together, they have a very “collected” feel, as if each one was hand-picked from various shopping trips at cozy Antique stores and little markets around the world.
The charms are beautifully packaged and each one includes thoughtful messaging. Our Soar Necklace makes a perfect graduation gift. This sparkly little swallow is understated and beautiful on its own, or makes a perfect layering companion to a longer necklace.
My sister in law will be the first one I gift this adorable charm! And I don’t think there could be a cuter name for a baby shoe charm than “Pitter Patter”!
The Tree of Life is also one of my favorites from the collection.  It can represent so many things: new roots, family tree, in memory of, etc.

My personal charm necklace:Dec Birthstone – my daughter’s birth month“I” Initial Charm – for my daughter’s nameQueen Bee charm – represents both me and my daughter: strong first born womenGrow Charm – to represent new beginnings and ever changing seasons in my life as a momTree of Life charm in bronze – to remind me of my roots so I always know where I come from.
I love the look of the mixed metals.  And both the bronze and silver will develop a soft patina over time for an even more “collected” feel. There are many more charms to chose from, including With Love, a Lucky Horseshoe, Watch Over You angel wing, Mom/Grandma charms, Zodiac, Star of David, etc.  Watch this video to get a taste for more of the charms:

And now for the big announcement!  In honor of the charms being the start of my journey with Stella & Dot, I am giving away one necklace from the new Charm Collection!
