Atlanta Zoo

Today was Justin's last day off from his Shift-work. (He's doing it all through September...) The crazy schedule has been tough on our family, but these past couple days have been nice.

Today we visited the Zoo in Atlanta, GA. It was fun! Jonah had a blast even though he was more interested in the fan on his stroller and the little girls walking by than in the animals. (Oh, by the way, my little boy is quite the ladies man! They love him!)

The day started off a little rough because I realized I forgot to pack his baby food! Now if you know my little guy, that is a SERIOUS blunder! He loves food! Luckily, I did remember Cheerios, and the zoo had applesauce.

After a quick lunch, we started touring the zoo. We started our with the pandas because they were close to where we had lunch.
A panda taking a nap at my feet (and no I didn't eat too much at lunch, I'm just pregnant! LOL.)
There were tons of animals to look at and we had a great time. A couple of my personal favorites were this cute little orangutan, and this rhino and giraffe having a staring contest.
Cutie pie reminded me of my little monkey!

I'm not sure who won, we left before they stopped staring.
Justin and Jonah had a little bonding time outside the stroller towards the end because Jo had been such a good little guy.
My men!
Now if you ever need any tips on tailgating, I'm sure Jonah would love to help. Before we left the zoo Jonah sat in the back of the car eating a few Cheerios and sipping water before we drove home.

It was a wonderful day off, I'm kinda bummed it had to end.

Jonah's Big Boy Disney Room & Cuteness

We moved Jonah into his big brother room today. He loves it, and I do too! I'm kinda jealous of how neat his Disney themed room turned out!

The view of his new room from the door... You can see Jo sitting on his mickey mouse bean bag chair with a HUGE grin on his face. I think he approves!

Wanted to get a better picture of the $35 used dresser we found, and I painted it to match his room and put a Mickey on it! It turned out kinda nice!

And now for a little Cuteness:
Jonah's first meatball! He loved it!
Jonah playing peek-a-boo with the curtain!

Big Family Announcement

Jonah has a little something he wants to share with y'all:

Yep! I'm pregnant! Jonah's going to be a big brother! I'm due March 31, 2013... on Easter.

To be honest, this baby is a surprise, but we couldn't be more thrilled. It took us about a year and a half to get pregnant with Jonah Bear, and I actually had to use fertility drugs and all sorts of other fun stuff, so we didn't know if I could get pregnant without doctor assistance and lots of prayer... Well, it turns out I can! :D It's wonderful to see God is in control.

It's kinda a funny story how we found out. I thought I might be pregnant back in late June just cause I was feeling funny, so I took a test, it was negative, and I moved on. Then I started to get car sick, so I took another test in early July. Still negative, "I was like OK Megan, you're losing it. You're not pregnant, quite wasting tests (those things aren't exactly cheap...)." So I just kept ignoring a few others signs that popped up... until we had a couple close friends staying with us for a weekend. They made scrambled eggs for breakfast, and hot dogs for lunch. When I was pregnant with Jonah those were the two things that made me super nauseous... and well, lets just say I was hiding the bedroom during those meals. For two hours after that everyone in the house kept bugging me that I was pregnant, and I kept denying it. I mean, I couldn't be pregnant, I had already wasted two tests! Finally I gave up and took one more test just to make everyone happy... It was positive... I will never hear the end of it.

So that's why I've been kinda MIA on my blog recently... it seems like everything I wanted to share was somehow tied in with me being pregnant, I also had no energy to try to write a decent post. But I'm back!

Jonah Bear is 9 Months!

Well, my sweet little man is growing up! He's NINE MONTHS OLD!

This dude still LOVES his food, and is eating like crazy, but whenever we sit him on our bathroom scale at home, it says he's still 19 pounds. Jonah has discovered tiny bits of chicken nuggets, ground turkey, corn, and pretty much anything else he can get his hands on. He also discovered Cheerios about two days ago, and he's in heaven. He LOVES them! If he can see them while he should be eating other foods like a bottle, or fruits and veggies, he freaks out because he wants the Cheerios instead. I even gave him an assortment of finger foods to choose from: corn, Cheerios, banana bits, and he picked out all the Cheerios before he was even consider the other stuff. Silly boy.

Still sleeping really well. Same eleven hours, but I actually have to wake him up at 7 now. He would probably sleep until 7:30 or 8, but that would push his bedtime back... and... well, mama likes her downtime before she goes to bed! Once he's only taking one afternoon nap sometime in March/April time frame, he can get up when he wants to, but for now... things won't change. He's a good boy because he gets good sleep.

Jonah still can't crawl. I'm starting to wonder if he's just going to skip it because he's pulling himself up more and more. Jonah Bear can clap, wave hello, whistle (yes, the boy taught himself how to whistle), and he added "bye bye" to his vocabulary; unfortunately, he only says it to mama when he's tired of me... Sorry buddy, I'm not going anywhere!

Catching Up: Visits

It's been a while since I have blogged, and I have a bit of catching up to do... So please be patient with me as this post is mostly for posterity.

The end of August my Mum came down to Tennessee to visit us. She stayed for a whole week, and it was lovely. She helped me paint a few rooms, we went shopping, and we even took Jonah to his first zoo! It was a wonderful. I was sad to see her go; she really spoiled Jonah... and me.
Oh, my Mum will kill me when she sees this picture, but it was too funny. My brother couldn't come this trip, but He LOVES Chick-Fil-A, so we took a picture of Mum enjoying it and texted it to my brother... to be mean. But she did bring him back a sandwich...

Jonah enjoying one of the rooms Mum and I painted while sitting in his new mickey mouse bean bag chair grandma bought him... I think he approves.

Then, the weekend after she left Justin found out that he had an extra day off on Labor Day Weekend that we didn't know about, so we loaded up the car and went up to Michigan. It was very low key, which was perfect: full of golfing, ice cream, and farmers markets. It's nice to spend an impromptu trip just enjoying family instead of trying to fit a million fun things into a short trip (which can be nice too... on occasion.).

My grandparents feeding Jonah... sorry about the bad photo, but it was too sweet not to share.
(Okay, to be completely honest, there are many more pictures from the visits that I haven't shared, but I just plain don't feel like getting them off the camera yet... these were from my phone. Sorry.)
