Pinterest Project: Chocolate Mug Cake

Recently I've been a little obsessed with this new AMAZING thing I discovered on Pinterest....

*drum roll please*
Chocolate Mug Cake

Yes people, that's right. You mix all the ingredients up in a coffee mug, pop it in the microwave, and TADA! Almost instant, yummy chocolate cake.

I got the recipe from this pin. But here are the ingredients with the instructions in my words and with my comments.

Ingredients:
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup white sugar
2 Tablespoons cocoa powder
Pinch of salt
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
2 Tablespoons whisked egg (Trust me, 1 whole egg is too much)
3 Tablespoons milk
3 Tablespoons vegetable oil or melted butter (I use oil)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 Tablespoons chocolate chips

Directions:
Mix all dry ingredients in mug. Make sure they are mixed well, otherwise you'll end up with lumpy cake. Still yummy, but well, lumpy. Add in wet ingredients. Mix well again. Throw a few chocolate chips on top. Microwave for one minute and thirty seconds. Add time in 10 second increments if needed. Enjoy cake.

***If you want a pretty version. Follow the directions above, but before you microwave, dump batter into another Pam sprayed mug, and microwave it in that mug. That way you can dump the cake out onto a plate. The chocolate chips all sink to the bottom during "baking" and it's like they are frosting on top! Either way it's still yummy cake.
