Levi's First Two Months

Hello Y'all! Long time no see (err... post?). As it turns out, finding time to blog is very difficult when you have two baby boys who suck up all your attention, time, and energy!
Levi - Couple days old
Levi is now two months old, and I just had to write about how he's doing!

Levi - One Month Old
So as you can tell, the stuffy that grandma chose for Levi's growth pictures was Sully from Monsters Inc. (For those that don't know, Jonah's was a classic Pooh Bear.)
Levi - Two Months

Levi is growing so much faster than his big brother. He was born at 7 pounds, and 5 ounces. Two months old, and he already weighs over 10 and half pounds. Like his brother, he just keeps getting longer and longer...He has no problem filling out his 3 month onesies.

As for diapers, he is in cloth diapers now! But if we travel he's in size 1 disposables.
Levi is eating every 2.5 hours during the day. Nursing is going SO MUCH better than with Jonah. I am so thankful. He is also eating every 4.5 to 5 hours during the night. I'm looking forward to when he sleeps though the night. I hope it's sooner than when his brother started.

His big milestones these past months are holding his head up by himself, rolling over from tummy to back, pulling out and putting back his pacifier, sucking his thumb, and smiling (First real smile was on mothers day!)! On the day of this two month birthday, I got his first giggle too!  His favorite toy is his little gym.

Finger Painting

I chose to be an adventurous mama before Levi arrived and decided that Jonah and I were going to finger paint for the first time... In my mind this is adventurous because we have white walls, my son was15 months old, and I was 39 weeks preggo... you do the math.

I made this finger paint from Pinterest in case Jonah wanted to paint his mouth taste it. Little tip: when it says "warm" on the instructions, it means wait until it boils and then take it off the heat right away... it took me a couple tries to make this stuff...

Once the paint was ready, I put down contractors paper, and then taped the painting paper down too... (Little man enjoys running away... and mama didn't want paint over everything.) Then I stripped Jonah down to his diaper and let him go!

Turns out, Jonah is NOT a fan of finger painting... in fact, I think it grossed him out. Give the boy a bowl of spaghetti and he digs right in, and then rubs the marinara sauce in like it's lotion, but give him finger paint? No thanks Ma!
The final "masterpieces."

Over all it was fun, and I'm glad we did it. It just might be a long time before we finger paint again... Coloring is much easier.

Being a Big Brother

Most people have been asking me how Jonah is handling his new status of big brother.
First family picture

He's doing GREAT! He is such a sweet big bro. He's very gentle with Levi. He thinks his tiny feet are hilarious; He'll run up to Levi, use one finger to touch Levi's toes, laugh hysterically, and run away.

He cares a lot for him too. When I put Levi down for tummy-time, he tends to get a little fussy. Jonah gets very concerned, and will lay on his tummy next to his little brother and gently pat his back while talking gibberish to him. It's so sweet.

The only time that Jonah is not a big fan of being a big brother is when I'm nursing Levi. Otherwise, everything is great.

I think this transition was so smooth for him because of the grandparents. For three weeks there was a steady stream of them coming and going to help out. And every time a new set of grandparents came to visit there were gifts for Jonah and lots of good quality play time.

I'd like to thank everyone who was praying for smooth transition for Jonah, and a quick recovery for me. The Lord GREATLY blessed us, and I am so thankful.
